Born in Apuan, Bali, Indonesia, 1949. Died in 2020. Studied at the School of Fine Art (SMSR) in Denpasar Bali and the Indonesia Academ of Fine Arts (ASRI) Yogyakarta. He has participated in numerous exhibitions in Indonesia as well as abroad, such as Belgium, Japan, Bangladesh, Philippines, and Thailand. Since 1992, through Wianta Foundation, he collaborated with the Ford Foundation to help preserve endangered traditional art and culture in Bali. In 1991 he staged an “Art Camp” in Ampuan to bring together many Indonesian and international scholars and contemporary artists. Among the awards he received is Dharma Kusuma Award by Bali Provincial Government (1999). He hold title of Professor for Correpondence of Academie from the Academia Internationale Gressi - Marino, Italy in 1996. | |
