| Muchtar studied painting at Bandung Institute of Technology from 1952 until 1959 and studied sculpture at the Rhode Island School of Design in the USA in 1960-1961, Sculpture Centre of New York from 1961-1962, and then was a research fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1962-1963. He headed Department of Fine Arts at the Bandung Institute of Technology from 1968 to 1970 and in 1975/76. His exhibitions were held in Jakarta, Bandung, Singapore, Bangkok, New Delhi, Tokyo, Zurich and Brazil. His work is represented in the collection of Dr. Adam Malik, Indonesia’s third Vice President. | |
